Teresa + Anthony
A timeless black-tie wedding for two fantastic humans at the classic Ayers House located on the edge of the city. The ceremony took place in the cool conservatory and then heated up for an energetic reception within Henry’s Table.

My recollections:
On a beautifully warm October afternoon one of my favourite starts to a ceremony happened. A wonderfully nervous and emotional Teresa ventured into the conservatory, paused at the top of the aisle before Mum Jo wandered towards her daughter, equally as nervous, emotional but beaming with pride before the two ventured the remaining distance to meet an excited Anthony.
We shared their dating app story but left out the old first messages, no body need see them, before a wonderful first date with a pizza that wasn’t all that memorable. Anthony impressed with his cooking skills before Teresa popped her engagement ring on twice within a short amount of time, the first a beautiful engagement by the beach and the second at the beach after the ring slipped off in the splashing of waves. Thankfully it was recovered within a short amount of time and they celebrated some more.
It was all about family with Anthony’s brother as his best man and Dad was the ring bearer whilst they signed their certificates with Teresa’s Mum as her witness and Anthony’s step Mum as his.
We stepped outside, handed out a stack of rose petals and announced them down the aisle, played beautifully by guitarist Ken Cooke. It was celebratory hugs with no formal group photo, just a documentary and much more personal approcach was requested and the smiles were as warm as the afternoon sun.
Guests enjoyed some well-deserved drinks in Henry’s bar before moving into the reception space. For a smaller room, the energy was absolutely jumping as we welcomed the newlyweds into the room who made a full trip of the room to say hello to all their guests. A stunning cake cut and then it was time to relax. Teresa mentioning she was absolutely buzzing and her hands slightly shaking from the energy their crowd brought to the table. The joys of adrenaline and love doing their work!
Some heart felt speeches followed before a packed dancefloor, guests then rolling out into the warm Adelaide night.
An excerpt from Teresa and Anthony’s engagement story:
“Teresa and Anthony set off on their Kangaroo Island trip, first making their way to Cape Jarvis then over the rough wavy sea and finally to KI.
They did some sightseeing of the vast and incredible landscapes of the island before retreating to their glamping tent for the night to fall asleep to the crashing waves of the ocean.
The plan was to rise early and for Anthony to propose in the morning.
Anthony wakes surprisingly rested with an engagement ring in his hand. Teresa rises excited to celebrate her birthday without the knowledge a bigger surprise is about to occur.
Anthony excitedly asks Teresa to marry him, Teresa of course says yes, and they have double the reason to celebrate.
To celebrate Anthony and Teresa pack their things and proceed to the beach, a quick stroll from their tent. This is where things become a little more dramatic, Teresa enthusiastically wades into a water just a little deeper than necessary and with a splash of the ocean and the ring is knocked off her finger and to the bottom of the shallow depths of the sea.
I’m relieved to announce that this story has a happy result, after a frantic search and a glimmer of sunshine, the ring sparkled at them half covered in sand, the other half in good luck, the ring is reunited with Teresa.
They both start to breath again and officially engaged! Woo!”
Thank you to Teresa and Anthony for inviting me to their wedding and to your family for making me feel so welcome, thank you.
