Hayley + Tim
Photographer MP Visuals
The one where it was red hot and full of absolute love. Hayley and Tim made a weekend of their wedding down the Fleurieu Peninsula in a festival of fun at the uber cool Beach Huts Middleton.
Hayley and Tim shared the sweetest first look and private vow reading prior to their ceremony. I highly recommend a first look and vows, if you are emotional people or just want to spend some more time with each other.
Their best mate Winston was on hand and prepared a little speech for Hayley and Tim, which I happily read out during the ceremony. We organised Zooper Doopers for everyone post ceremony and enjoyed the lighter moments, the sweet moments and a few laughs along the way.
Here’s a snippet from how Hayley and Tim met, as shared during their ceremony:
“Things between Hayley and Tim really didn’t get off to a flyer at Foodland.
Hayley didn’t think much of this long-haired teenager who her only interaction was to ask to open a checkout.
This scruffy boy would then in her opinion walk too slow and scuffed his feet. Ewww.
Whilst Tim mentioned he was more interested in spending time with mates than talking to a girl.
So yeah, to say it was love at first sight would be a stretch.
However, this would change on one particular Tuesday, the worst of all the days as there was only a measly 30-minute lunch break.
Hayley, purely out of boredom stuck on the registers decided today was the day to strike up a question.
But what topic, where do you start?
The intriguing line that would strike up a 10-year plus relationship.
“So… do you like cricket?”
And just like a Mitchell Johnson thunderbolt that has landed just a tad too short, Tim was up on his haunches, well and truly alive with the thrill of a cricket conversation.
Channelling his inner Kevin Pietersen with the hair and all, Tim is rocking back, clips one into the pasta in aisle 6 as he replies:
“Yes, I love cricket!”
And just like that, a spark is lit.
To follow on from this electric conversation, Hayley slid into Tim’s Facebook DM’s before that was even a thing with another zinger:
“You are missing out on some amazing cricket”
These infrequent conversations and messages would slowly increase, the topics covered frequently would include cricket of course, parties and the party king Tim, running and their mutual reluctance to clock in for their next shift at Foodland.
Hayley mentions she loved the early parts of their relationship and having reflected on this stage of their lives, she marvels at how effortless it all felt and everything that fell into place.
They leapt at the opportunity to grow as individuals but also as a couple, they loved the fact that they were both so different, and unique in their own way, but revelled in that.
The ability to have strong individual identities with a strong connection as a couple is what they feel was the foundation to turn a cricket friendship into a long-term relationship.
Tim realised early on two things that would be non-negotiables going forward with Hayley, the first that he was told he was now in a relationship with Hayley after one boozy night at the grand and the second, no matter what the season or temperature, you are going to live the rest of your life with a fan on at night.”
Thank you legends for having me along to your wedding!
